San Juan Capistrano's 51st Swallow's Day Parade

The town was all a buzz today with locals, tourists and hourds of on-lookers for San Juan Capistrano's 51st Annual Swallows Day Parade. The Fiesta de Las Golondrinas celebrates the return of the swallows to the San Juan Capistrano Mission on St. Joesph's Day, March 19th - the reason behind all the festivities around town. San Juan is Orange County's oldest community, so it's fun to celebrate this tradition of the town with everyone.

The picture above was found on The Orange County Register's site that we thought would be fun to share with those of you who don't live near and couldn't check it out for yourself. Lots of fun, lots of colorful characters and tons of horses! The town is rich with culture and tradition - the story of the swallow return is just magical, too.

If you'd like more information on the Swallow's Day Parade or just San Juan Capistrano in general you can check out THIS SITE
